The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the official notification for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 under Advertisement No. 16-Exam/2026.
PET 2026 is a mandatory, single-stage preliminary screening examination for candidates aspiring for Group B and Group C government jobs across various departments in Uttar Pradesh—such as Lekhpal, Village Development Officer (VDO), Junior Assistant, Forest Guard, and Stenographer. Qualifying in this exam makes candidates directly eligible to appear for the respective Mains examinations.

UPSSSC PET 2026 Exam Pattern
- Mode of Exam: Offline OMR-Based Written Test (or Online CBT as notified).
- Total Questions & Marks: 100 Objective Type Questions carrying 100 Marks.
- Duration: 2 Hours (120 Minutes).
- Negative Marking: 1/4th (0.25) Marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Syllabus Coverage: Indian History, Indian National Movement, Geography, Indian Economy, Indian Constitution, General Science, Elementary Arithmetic, General Hindi, General English, Reasoning, Current Affairs, General Awareness, Unseen Hindi Passages, Graph Analysis, and Table Analysis.
How to Fill UPSSSC PET 2026 Online Application Form?
- Visit the official UPSSSC website https://upsssc.gov.in//Default.aspx
- If you have not completed OTR yet, first complete your One Time Registration (OTR).
- Login using your OTR Number/Registered Mobile Number and other required details.
- Click on the PET 2026 Apply Online link available on the dashboard.
- Your basic details available in OTR will be displayed in the application form. Fill in the remaining required information carefully.
- Follow the instructions regarding the required documents, photograph, and signature.
- If required, upload your photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
- Pay the prescribed Application Fee through the available online payment mode.
- Carefully check all the details before clicking on Final Submit.
- After successful submission, download and keep a Printout/PDF copy of the Application Form safely for future reference.
