SSC CGL 2026 : Detailed Procedure for Filling Online Application

The process of filling the online application consists of two parts:

Part A: One-Time Registration (OTR)

Before starting the registration process, candidates should carefully read the examination notice and keep the following information ready:

  • Mobile Number (for OTP verification)
  • Email ID (for OTP verification)
  • Aadhaar Number or any valid Identity Proof such as Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, School/College ID Card, or Employer ID Card
  • Matriculation (10th) Examination Board, Roll Number, and Year of Passing
  • Disability Certificate Number (if applicable)

Registration Process

  1. Visit the SSC portal and click on "Login or Register".
  2. Complete Aadhaar-based authentication or provide an alternative identity document.
  3. Fill in personal details and contact information.
  4. Verify the registered mobile number and email ID through OTP.
  5. Submit the registration form to generate login credentials.

Part B: Online Application Form

Documents Required

Before filling the application form, keep the following ready:

  • Live Photograph
  • Scanned Signature in JPG/JPEG format (10–20 KB)

Instructions for Live Photograph

Candidates must capture a live photograph while filling the application form:

  • Use a plain background with sufficient lighting.
  • Keep the camera at eye level.
  • Face the camera directly and look straight ahead.
  • Ensure the entire face is clearly visible within the frame.
  • Do not wear a cap, mask, or spectacles.
  • Blurred, side-facing, or poor-quality photographs may result in rejection.

Instructions for Signature

  • Upload a clear scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Signature dimensions should be approximately 4 cm × 2 cm.
  • Applications with blurred or unclear signatures may be rejected.

Steps to Fill the Application Form

Step 1: Login

Log in using your Registration Number and Password.

Step 2: Apply for the Examination

Click on the Apply link under the relevant examination notification.

Step 3: Verify Auto-Filled Information

Personal details from OTR will be automatically displayed and cannot be edited.

Step 4: Fill Required Details

Provide the following information:

  • Highest Educational Qualification
  • Qualifying Examination Details
  • Ex-Serviceman Status (if applicable)
  • Age Relaxation Category
  • Examination Centre Preferences
  • Medium of Examination
  • PwBD/Scribe Requirements (if applicable)
  • Language Studied at Matriculation Level
  • Eligibility for specific posts, where applicable

Step 5: Upload Photograph and Signature

Upload the live photograph and scanned signature as per the prescribed specifications.

Step 6: Review the Application

Check all details carefully in the preview section, including:

  • Personal Information
  • Educational Qualifications
  • Category Details
  • Photograph and Signature

Step 7: Declaration

Accept the declaration by:

  • Clicking the “I Agree” checkbox
  • Entering the captcha code

Step 8: Fee Payment

If applicable, pay the examination fee through:

  • BHIM UPI
  • Net Banking
  • Visa Debit Card
  • Mastercard
  • Maestro Card
  • RuPay Card

Step 9: Final Submission

Submit the application after verifying all information. The application will be accepted provisionally upon successful submission.

Step 10: Print the Application Form

Download and print the submitted application form for future reference and document verification.

Important Note

Candidates should ensure that all information entered is correct. Applications containing incorrect details, blurred photographs, or unclear signatures are liable to be rejected. A printed copy of the submitted application form should be retained for future use.
